This modern multifunctional arena has been the home of the Liberec White Tigers, a major Czech ice-hockey club, and the Liberec Condors basketball team, since September 2005. However, the 2006 “Building of the Year” can also be used for competitions in tennis, volleyball, handball, floorball, futsal, ice-skating, boxing, shooting and athletics.
The arena seats 7,250 sports fans and additional 1,500 visitors for other events, e.g., concerts or fairs.
The Tipsport arena will show just how multifunctional it is to all the visitors and fans of the Global Games, as it will host the Games' opening ceremony, a part of the basketball tournament, and the judo tournament as a demonstration sport. Last but not least, table tennis players will compete for the medals in the arena.
In addition to the Tipsport arena, the vast multifunctional complex includes a baseball and softball pitch, athletics throwing field, grass field for American football, a football pitch with artificial turf, a football and athletics stadium, a tennis complex, two ice rinks and three gyms.
