Global Games 2009 have been officially closed

The second world games for athletes with an intellectual disability ended by closing ceremony most of which was filled by the last medal and award ceremonies.
Table tennis players, futsal players and basketball players received their medals. The best athletes of the Games were announced. Czech representative Ondřej Sedliský, who became with his three gold medals the best tennis player of the Global Games 2009, was one of them.
The representatives of the organizing towns – Liberec, Jablonec – and of Liberec district spoke after the end of the ceremonies. The president of the Games Alena Erlebachová, without whom there wouldn’t be any Games in the Czech Republic, also thanked all of the participants.
“I thank all of you, who had come to our beautiful country and took part in the Games. The thanks belong to you because there wouldn’t by any Games without you,” thanked Erlebachová all of the 1,324 participants.
President of INAS-FID Bob Price also held his last speech at the Games and the flag of the Global Games was lowered and carried away after his words about official closing of the Games. Then the musical part of the closing ceremony followed and the second Games definitively ended.
